![]() The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).Īccredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Sessions are client led giving the client complete autonomy to explore their issues. I follow Ethical Guidelines where Confidentiality and Equality are key. I have personal experience in many issues to include :- bereavement/loss/grief, anxiety and depression, childbirth, miscarriage, divorce, financial problems including bankruptcy, relationship breakups, mind games, jealousy, alcoholism of someone close, Alzheimer’s, ADHD, autism. I have also spent time volunteering with two different Counselling Agencies. The seed was set and seven years after the comment and despite family difficulties and major upsets including bereavement and a two year break from studying, here I am fully qualified in Person Centred Therapy and in the process of doing a CBT course. After a while, one of the members of the group casually made a comment that I should become a counsellor as I would be good at it. So I started an online Ladies Help and Support Group ten years ago which is still running. There have been other times when I've needed help and people have been there for me. There have been times when I have needed help and it hasn't been there and I didn't want other people to feel like that. Throughout my life I have experienced many things good and bad. I worked within a counselling agency for many years prior to opening my own practice five years ago. I have experience working with clients encountering unresolved issues from the past, mental health related problems, depression, self esteem, relationship counselling, anxiety and stress, family work, problems relating to eating disorders and bereavement plus many more. My aim is to accompany them along their journey of self exploration, whilst providing a safe and ethical environment to build a trusting, confidential and professional relationship between my clients and myself. ![]() I enjoy working with people and understand the diverse problems many people experience through various times in their life. This led me to make the decision to train as a counsellor. Whilst working within the community for the past 24 years, supporting families, becoming a member of The Mental Health Carers Reference Group and rearing and supporting my own family, I feel I have gained a good understanding of the diverse problems people experience. Sessions will also be discounted for Counselling Students. Sessions are for individuals or couples and are usually weekly, although this depends on the clients requirements and cost £40 per 50 minute session for individuals or £50 per 50 minute session for couples. We offer face to face sessions in a calm and relaxing environment but if you prefer, then telephone sessions or video calls can be arranged. We are both members of recognised professional bodies (ACC and BACP), DBS checked and are fully insured. ![]() ![]() We are both Person Centred Therapists holding a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling awarded by The Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body.
